Nach 14 Jahren erfolgreicher Arbeit für einen der am meist gehypten und auch gehassten Konzerne der Welt, tritt Steve Jobs mit sofortiger Wirkung als CEO von Apple zurück. Steve Jobs war einige Zeit An Krebs erkrankt und musste sich aus gesundheitlichen Gründen schon einige Auszeiten nehmen. Gesundheitlich scheint er nie ganz der alte geworden zu sein. Apple hat nun bestätigt, dass COO Tim Cook den Job von Steve übernehmen wird. Ein Steve Jobs geht aber niemals so ganz und bleibt daher als Vorsitzender des Aufsichtsrats Apple erhalten. Wie und ob sich das auf zukünftige Produkte, wie das iPhone 5 oder iPad 3 auswirkt, ist zwar unklar aber eher unwahrscheinlich. Meiner Meinung nach ist eine einzelne Person aber nicht grundsätzlich für den Erfolg oder den Untergang verantwortlich. Wenn wir jetzt mal von Charlie Sheens Rauswurf bei "Two and a half men" absehen :D Hier der recht kurze aber prägnante "Abschiedsbrief":

 

"To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
